Dean Comple
Dean Comple is a lifelong Artist, starting at a noticeably young age he began drawing and painting, enthusiastically learning all the different styles and exploring different mediums such as crafting, sculpture, working with metal and wood and of course, painting. He developed a great love for oil paints, but a special love of acrylic’s had blossomed. Trying mural painting and other various types of exhibit art, Dean was highly active in Art and mentoring programs through High School and college. Studying at several schools on Long Island, namely Farmingdale SUNY , Suffolk Community and Stony Brook and Parsons School of Art and Design in NYC.
In 1979 while working and attending college, Dean decided to take a “little break” from the grind and started “a temporary job in the airline industry” to help pay for future Fine Arts education. This “break” ended 41 years later after an extraordinarily successful career in Commercial Aviation holding titles of Operations Agent, Flight Dispatcher, Station Manager and Director level positions. Travelling the world for business and pleasure only enriched his desire to return to a fulltime art career. Along this roadmap of life, he continued to use his background to design graphics and charts as well as keeping up with his painting. Being involved in school design projects with his children is where he found a great love for passing his knowledge onto young people. Meeting Tina Weiss and becoming a part of The Hugs and Smiles Children’s Foundation is like a dream come true for Dean. Her limitless vision and incredible drive are inspiring. Creating and sharing art in the community and especially teaching, has enabled him to share his love of art with children of all ages. He believes that the children of today absolutely need a much deeper exposure to the beauty of the arts, singing, dancing and fine arts. Creating paths of enrichment for all children of all ages. Dean has shown and sold his work both in the US and Internationally. |
