Mitchel Weiss

​Mitchel Ephraim Weiss is a highly regarded litigator for personal injury cases. He first began his career working as a trial lawyer for a well-respected Manhattan insurance defense firm where he honed his skills as a trial lawyer. Thereafter, Mr. Weiss transitioned his focus to plaintiff's litigation, and has been representing people injured in all types of accidents since 1993.
 
Mr. Weiss took the initiative to open his own law firm – and is a founding partner and lead attorney in what is now referred to as Sakkas, Cahn & Weiss, LLP – where he has committed himself to helping injury victims obtain substantial settlement amounts. Mr. Weiss has handled a large variety of accident cases over the 30-plus years that he has been practicing in the field of law. From automobile and trucking accidents, to lead paint poisoning, construction accidents, police brutality and wrongful death, Mr. Weiss covers it all.
 
Attorney Weiss has been successful in earning hundreds of millions of dollars on behalf of the clients he and the firm have represented. Both knowledgeable and innovative in his practice, Mr. Weiss has also established an outstanding reputation among his peers in the legal community, specifically for his ongoing work in the field of car accidents. He is now recognized as a legal expert in No-Fault and Threshold Law.
 
Martindale-Hubbell, the attorney peer-review service, has bestowed attorney Weiss the rating of Martindale-Hubbell Distinguished Lawyer. He has been selected by his peers in 2015, 2016 and 2017 for inclusion in the New York Metro Super Lawyers list. Mr. Weiss has also earned The National Trial Lawyers Top 100 designation since 2014. Other honors include listing in the Global Directory of Who's Who among top lawyers in 2015 and being named in the top 1 percent of trial lawyers in the country by the National Association of Distinguished Counsel.
Mitchel E. Weiss is a graduate of the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law where he earned his Juris Doctor degree in 1985. Four years earlier, the aspiring attorney attended and graduated, with honors, from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1981. Additionally, Mr. Weiss is a proud member and officer of the Jewish Lawyers Guild.
