We believe that creativity education is instrumental in helping children become creative problem solvers, develop self-regard, and feel empowered to take action in the world. Our programs are designed to encourage children to embrace, value, and express their own experiences, and in the process discover the joy and excitement of learning.
This beautiful 14 year old girl Valeria ,to the left, (having fun with paint on her face) is an exceptional teenager with a heart of gold who has talent beyond words. We are so blessed that she is a part of hugs and Smiles.To the left is her portrait and below are some of the paintings she has created especially for Hugs and Smiles. Art Programs
- The importance of art education cannot be over-stated, as there is art in nearly everything we touch. From architecture to automobiles, fashion to furniture, art is incorporated in our lives in so many unseen ways.
- Creating art improves critical thinking, teaching students to be more careful and thorough in how they observe the world. It connects people with their own culture and that of others, thereby building tolerance and community. Learning about color, layout, perspective, and balance helps students prepare for various kinds of presentations used in many professions.
- Future classes will include painting, collage, sculpture, photography, or building art with recycled materials. The freedom to create and express one's own ideas is the key to learning!
- Art opens doors to a myriad of opportunities and also builds confidence!
